Delivery Options when shopping with Hewitts of Croydon
All Online orders placed regardless of delivery method (Click & Collect or Courier), will take up to 15 working days to be processed during August. Emails may go into junk or spam folders.
PLEASE DO NOT COME TO COLLECT YOUR ORDER, UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED A READY TO COLLECT EMAIL OR TEXT. THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS THE ORDER CONFIRMATION.
See below for more information regarding our delivery options:
1. Courier Delivery with Tracking
Our courier service is provided by our chosen couriers. Parcels are added to each courier at random; no preference can be made. Orders are dispatched Monday–Friday and are sent using a next working day service where possible. Delivery time frames are an estimate and cannot be guaranteed in the event of courier disruption or unforeseen events.
Our Prices:
ORDERS £0 - £100: £6.50
ORDERS £100.01 - £150: £4.50
ORDERS OVER £150.01: FREE
If ordered before midday and in stock, parcels are delivered the next working day Mon–Fri in non-peak times.
Things you need to know:
- Parcels are not delivered at the weekend (unless a courier chooses to for operational reasons). It cannot be requested.
- A delivery slot will be provided on the morning of delivery via text and email. A tracking number will be provided.
- Out of stock items will be sent at no extra charge once they are back in stock (if that was the original delivery method).
Anything picked up on Friday will be delivered on Monday. Any delivery orders received over the weekend are picked up on Monday and delivered Tuesday, when in stock.
PLEASE NOTE: WE CAN ONLY DELIVER TO MAINLAND ENGLAND, WALES AND SCOTLAND. WE CANNOT DELIVER TO THE HIGHLANDS, ISLE OF WIGHT, REPUBLIC OF IRELAND, NORTHERN IRELAND, ISLE OF MAN, CHANNEL ISLANDS, ANY UK ISLANDS OR ANYWHERE ELSE. IF YOU ARE UNSURE IF WE CAN DELIVER TO YOUR ADDRESS, PLEASE CALL BEFORE PLACING YOUR ORDER. THIS IS DUE TO A SEVERE INCREASE IN DELIVERY CHARGES FOR THESE AREAS.
2. Click & Collect
IF YOU WANT TO COLLECT FROM A PICK UP SHOP, YOU MUST PAY FOR DELIVERY AND THEN SELECT THIS THROUGH THE COURIER. CLICK & COLLECT IS ONLY FROM HEWITTS OF CROYDON’S STORE.
Click & Collect is FREE when you spend OVER £25. Orders UNDER £25 incur a surcharge of £3.50.
You have 30 days to collect your order once you are informed it is ready to collect. A longer time frame is given in the back-to-school period. 30 days applies from when all items are set aside. Orders not collected within the given time frame are refunded and put back to stock minus a £3.50 admin fee.
When an order is placed you will receive an email to advise you that your order has been successfully placed. The subject will be ‘Order Confirmation’ and does not mean that your order is ready to collect or in stock. You will receive a second email and a text to confirm that your order is ready to collect. If you have not received this email or text, your order is not yet ready to be collected. If anything is out of stock you will receive a further email to inform you of this. When the item(s) come into stock you will be notified by email and text.
All orders must be signed for upon collection.
To collect your order you must bring:
- A copy of the ‘Ready for Collection’ email or text
- Photo ID (ID that has the name of the person who placed the order — Bank Card) or Proof of address (Utility Bill)
To collect an order on someone’s behalf you will need to bring:
- A copy of the ‘Ready for Collection’ email or text
- Photo ID belonging to the named Hewitts account holder (we will accept a physical ID or a photograph of the ID)
Our Website is NOT linked to our Stock Levels…
As touched on in the information above, our website will let you order anything whether it is in stock or not. Therefore, you will receive an email to let you know if anything is being put on order for you. An estimated due date will be provided if a date is known. Sometimes we can no longer get items in, so you will be refunded rather than an item placed on order for you. But as a rule if we can get it, the item is put on order for you. So you do need to cancel your order if you don’t want to wait for an item to be restocked. We may try to offer an alternative if possible, or if we are aware the wait time will be significant.
If you do wish to cancel/refund an order either due to it being out of stock, or simply changing your mind, you can call the store during our opening hours on 020 8680 4555 or email customercare@hewittsofcroydon.com.
Please note if you are cancelling an order due to simply changing your mind, or you need to change something about your order you will need to get in contact ASAP. If during working hours it needs to be within 1 hour. If placed during the evening, send us an email and we will see it first thing in the morning before the order is processed.
Housekeeping Rules:
- Emails may go into junk and spam folders, so please check there before contacting us about missing emails as they are automated.
- Delivery time frames may be amended over peak periods and public holidays; delivery charges will always apply in the same way.
- Please keep all contact information up to date on your account so we can contact you about your order and make sure they are delivered to the correct address. Putting invalid phone numbers will stop you from receiving text updates about your order from us and the courier.
