Returns Policy




We want you to be happy with your purchase with us, but if you're not please see the below information to help you with returning your goods to us


In Store

  • Online orders returned in store must be accompanied with the order form sent out with every parcel as proof of purchase
  • Items must be returned in their original packaging, unused and in a resalable condition within 30 days (100 days for exchanges)
  • Returns or exchanges can not be processed without proof of purchase


via Post or Courier service

  • Hewitts does not currently offer a free postage returns service
  • Items must be returned in their original packaging, unused and resalable condition within 30 days (100 days for exchanges)
  • Enclose the returned parcel with the Reason for Return (fill in the Order form provided)
  • Returns can be taken to your local Post Office or Courier of your choice
  • Additional insurance is advised if the garments are of value or the Post Office provide a Special Delivery Guarantee service which includes tracking information and proof of delivery
  • Returns or exchanges can not be processed without proof of purchase

Things to Remember

  • Your items must be returned in the original packaging with barcode tags intact within 30 days of dispatch
  • The order form must be included in the package which you return to us.
  • We'll exchange any items or offer you a refund providing they are in their original, unused condition and you have taken reasonable care of the goods whilst in your possession
  • Swimwear must be returned with the hygiene strip/sticker in place for a return to be accepted (this is not in male swimwear or legsuits)


What happens if my returns go missing?

Please keep your receipt of postage from the post office or courier as proof that you returned your items to us. We cannot be held responsible for any items that go missing. Your receipt will enable you to claim for your missing parcel through Royal Mail or courier service.



If you wish to exchange an item due to no fault of Hewitts there will be a £3.50 administrative/next day repostage fee. If there is a price difference in the items being exchanged we will issue a refund or contact you in order to obtain payment for the additional cost. A member of the web team will contact you to charge any additional costs through, once the goods have been recieved back in store. We will only issue a refund or dispatch an alternative size once we have received the original item back to us. Hewitts cannot be held responsible for goods being returned until they have reached our possession.


We understand that trying on garments for size is inevitable, please take great care to not leave any marks on clothing (e.g. make-up, deodorant) as we may not be able to accept it back if we believe it to be unresaleable.


What happens with the Virtual Loyalty Reward Stickers I have earned when I Refund or Exchange an item?

When any item is returned for a refund, the remaining items on the order will be valued and the correct amount of stickers will remain on your account. When the value falls below the amount of an earned sticker, the sticker will be removed from your account.



Products we're unable to cancel, refund or exchange

We can't offer refunds or exchanges, unless faulty or not as described, on the following items:

  • products which have been personalised for you, such as embroidered uniform
  • products which have been personalised by you, i.e. clothing that has name labels and/or names written in them

We're unable to accept cancellations for these products, unless cancelled within 48 hours of the order being placed


This does not affect your statutory rights. 


Cancelling an order

Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013

This legislation offers you the following cancellation rights when you buy online or by phone:

  • You are entitled to cancel your contract if you so wish, provided that you exercise your right no longer than 14 days after the day on which you receive the goods or services
  • Your right to return products does not apply to goods made to your specification, that have been clearly personalised or which by reason of their nature cannot be returned or are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly
  • If you wish to exercise your right of cancellation, you are obliged to retain possession of the goods and take reasonable care of them
  • To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision to cancel your contract by a clear statement, including details of your name, geographical address, details of the order you wish to cancel and, where available, your phone number and email address
  • You can cancel by email: customercare@hewittsofcroydon.com , or call 0208 680 4555 
  • If you decide to cancel, you should return the goods to us at your cost within 14 days of such cancellation and we will reimburse to you (by the method used to pay for the original transaction) the amount in relation to goods to which cancellation rights apply. This includes the cost of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you choose a type of delivery other than our standard and least expensive method of delivery)
  • We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you. We will make the reimbursement no later than 14 days after the day we receive back from you any goods supplied*

*Please allow up to 21 days for your reimbursement during peak times
